Bedford Belles v Barking Ladies

First Team, U13's and U11's match reports.

First Team

BEDFORD BELLES 7 BARKING LADIES 1
Bedford proved too strong the young Barking side. Barking trying their best to keep goals at bay were 4 goals down, when just before half time Barking hit back with a short ball from Stacy Savage to Nicola Moore who had a clear run on goal and chipped the ball over the Bedford keepers head to make the score 4-1 at half time.

Barking came out fighting at the start of the second half and for 20 minutes had control of the match, several shots at goal failed to increase their score. Bedford hit back after 20 minutes increasing their score to six. A controversial penalty made their score seven five minutes before the final whistle.

U13's

Barking U13 5 Letchworth Eagles 0 (Hertfordshire League)
The first match of the season proved fruitful for Barking with goals from Whitehead and Leggett in the first half. Letchworth hit back at the end of the first half but the goal was disallowed for off side.

Barking carried on strong in the second half with another goal from Whitehead followed closely with two goals from Beckworth.

Team: Bentham, Moorton, Patten, Russell, Smyth, King, Sweeny, Whitehead, Piggott, Beckworth, Leggett, Drain.

U11's

Barking U11 9 Buckhurst Hill 2 (Essex Girls League)
A brilliant start for the first game of the season. Teamwork and good passing by Barking saw the score 7-1 at half time. Albany scoring a double hat-trick was not happy and added one more for 7 goals, whiles King and Gelston added one more each. Barking keeper Hicks had a brilliant game and was named player of the match.
