U10s: Writtle Minors v CHELMSFORD CITY LADIES

Both teams started brightly and there were chances at both ends. Sarah Cherry, in the City goal, was making her debut and did well to block several well struck efforts. At the other end, Beth Robson and Sophie Wander both went close but neither side could break the deadlock and the game remained goalless at half time.

Chelmsford started the second half stronger and soon put the Writtle goal under pressure. Courtney Clarke and Brogan Lambert in the City defence, dealt with any Writtle attacks and soon Sophie Wander converted a chance to put City in the lead.

Sophie Haydon was playing well and had a shot well saved and placed another just wide before increasing Chelmsford’s lead with a well taken shot. Emily Kendle, making her debut, Ellie Annan and Helen Brown put in good performances as their confidence grew.
