Girls Under 11
City Colts B 1; Kettering Town 5. Town gained their 1st win of the season, and moved up 2 places in the table, at the expense of bottom markers City. Christine Demaltesis led the way with a hat-trick and was ably supported by Megan Westley and Shemise Brown. Demi Norman replied for the hosts.
Kettering United 1; Irchester Romans 1. Despite only fielding 5 players, United gained their 2nd successive draw with a strong performance. They held a deserved interval lead against mid table Romans, thanks to a stunning goal by Chenay Radcliffe, but Irchester fought back well after the break, an own goal giving them a share of the points.
Kingsthorpe Leopards 3; City Colts A 6. A good advert for Girls’ football saw Colts come on strongly in the 2nd half to retain their unbeaten record against a resilient Leopards. All out attack by both sides saw them share 6 goals at the interval, with Philippa Hardy netting twice, once with a penalty, and Hollie Rutter once for the home side. Colts turned on the style after the break to take the points, with Sophie Watson hitting a hat-trick, Serena Lawrence netting twice and Lucy Hopper adding the other.
Kingsthorpe Pumas 25; Brixworth Juniors 0. The League leaders extended their seasonal goal tally to 82 from 7 victorious matches, playing some great passing football and showing lethal finishing against an under strength Brixworth, who showed commendable spirit throughout. Charlotte Burrows led the way with 9, closely followed by Adel Lumb with 8, Lauren Handley hitting 4 and both Laura Smith and Jasmine Clark netting twice.
Sunnyside Warriors 1; Peterborough United 4. United returned from Northampton with a good win under their belts, to move level on points with their hosts. Lubia Slater and Zoe Watkins gave them a 2 goal lead, only for Demi Giles to reduce the arrears just before halftime. After the break, United broke quickly following a Warriors corner, Shay Stanford running the length of the field to net, with Laura Bigginton completing the scoring with a lob over the keeper.
Under 13 - 7-a-side Blue Division
Ise Lodge 3; Drayton Grange 0. A well contested game saw Ise earn their 1st League win thanks to 3 goals in quick succession, midway through the 1st half, from Holly Elder, Natasha Zajac and Rosie Maclot. But, in a fairly even game, they were indebted to stand in keeper Anja Sawinski and defenders Ellen Marshall and April Burrows, who had fine games to preserve a clean sheet.
Newport Pagnell Town 1; Corby Ravens 0. League leaders Pagnell couldn’t hit the free scoring heights to which they had become accustomed against a determined Ravens side. It took a Louise Dyer goal to give them the points and preserve their 100% record.
Rugby Town Girls 5; Bilton Ajax 11. An entertaining game local derby saw Bilton move into a midtable position, with the 16 goals being scored by just 6 players. For Ajax, Hannah Paulie went nap and Rebecca Broadley and Becky Clusker grabbed hat-tricks, while the Rugby response came from Catherine Walsh and Lauren Roberts, with doubles, and Lauren Haswell.
Under 13 - 7-a-side Yellow Division
Earls Barton United 0; Kettering United 6. Barton played well early on to hold League leaders United for the first 20 minutes, but, by halftime, the visitors had built up a 3 goal lead, courtesy of Lauren Hoyle, Imogen Cox and Maisie Brudenall. United had much the better of the 2nd half nd added 3 more, with Brudenall completing her hat-trick and Cheryl Dilley adding the other. The Barton pulled off some excellent saves to prevent further scoring and, when the home side attacked, Chloe Wilkinson and the outstanding Gracie McLaven coped well with any threat.
Kettering Orchard Park 7; Kettering Town 1. An understrength Town eventually proved no match for a rampant Park, who remain level on points with Kettering United at the top. Amy Cartwright hit a hat-trick, Heather Lindley added 2 well taken goals and Bethan Morson and the influential Jodie Rogers were also on target. Lauren Peers gave the visitors some consolation.
Welland Valley Rangers 1; Heelands Rangers 2. For the 2nd time this season, only 1 goal separated these sides, as Heelands moved above their hosts into 3rd spot. Rachel Marlow and Heidi Bushell were on target for the visitors to outscore Teri Locke.
Under 13 - 11-a-side
Corby Cougars Roma 7; Goldhay 0. A hardfought game saw Roma end Goldhay’s 100% record in emphatic style. They took the lead when Beth Miller’s speculative long range shot bounced over the keeper and increased it through Chelsea Smith’s free kick after Nicole Tinto was brought down. Miller grabbed the 3rd and Tinto added the 4th before halftime, despite being restricted by an injury received earlier in the game. Roma continued to press after the break and Tinto slotted home the 5th before being forced off with her injury, leaving the home side with 10 players. Laura Lewis claimed the 6th after a determined run down the right and Nicole Coull ended the scoring from the edge of the area after the ball was only half cleared.
Duston Knights 1; Rushden Rangers 1. Duston had the better of the 1st half, looking sharper than their visitors who were grateful for some fine saves by Terri Baker and good defending by Sinead Yule and skipper Kayleigh Malins for keeping the scoresheet blank. Knights continued on the offensive after the beak and were rewarded when Amy Willis used her strength to end a long run with a shot from a tight angle. Baker made another good save to prevent a 2nd, then Rushden took the game to Duston and levelled through Rebecca Brookes with time running out after a shot was parried by the keeper.
Moulton Magpies 25; Raunds Tigers 0. Despite hard work in defence by Emma Thorpe and Sarah Jeffs, Tigers were well beaten by a disciplined Moulton side, who have joined Brixworth at the top of the League. Leah Stacy led the scoring with a double hat-trick, Lizzie Clarke went nap, Kerri Stanton hit a hat-trick, Melissa Behan, Lucy Clarke and Kate Markham added doubles, with the others coming from Jade Jacquest, Melanie Proffit, Laurie Dickens, Jess Paver and an own goal.
Peterborough United 11; City Colts 0. Posh earned their first points of the season in emphatic style against a City side, whose keeper was in outstanding form to prevent several further goals. But she was powerless to prevent Jessica O’Sullivan hitting a hat-trick, Chanade Henderson and Natalie Gaches netting twice and Jade Bingham, Lorna Gallacher, Jordan Bicks and Daniella Pinnelli getting on the scoresheet, the latter with a 20 yard half volley.
Under 15 - Division 1
Cambridge City 1; Kettering Town 1. City and Town are still locked together on the same number of points after this stalemate. The home side had the better of the first half, but it was Town who took advantage of a rare attacking sortie to hold the interval lead through Charlotte Taylor. The visitors came more into the game after the break, though City gained a deserved equaliser with an 18 yard effort from Shona Kelly. Town had a chance to win it in the last few minutes, only to see a shot hit a post.
Kettering United 1; Bedford & District 2. Bedford’s 5th consecutive win keeps them in touch with the leaders, though United made them work hard for their victory. Victoria Mawsdley gave the visitors the lead, but United were level at halftime, courtesy of a Becky Johnson penalty. Despite the home side pressing after the interval, urged on by outstanding skipper Amy Loake, it was Bedford who grabbed the winner, Carissa Kovorivski claiming the all important goal.
Kingsthorpe Blackcats 8; Priory Parkside 1. Blackcats gained their 1st win of the season by overcoming bottom side Priory. Lucy bateman helped herself to a hat-trick, Sophie Wright notcheda double, with Toni McArthy, Laura Chambers and Laura Morris also on target.
Newport Pagnell Town 0; Ise Lodge 5. The top of the table clash went the way of the visitors, despite their side being somewhat understrength. They held a 2 goal lead after the first 10 minutes, Steph Donald taking advantage of a defensive error and Chloe Trevor rounding the keeper to score from an acute angle. The lead was doubled before the break, Becky Edwards, who produced her best form of the season down the right, netting with a 30 yard lob and Joanna Ross blasting home on the stroke of halftime. With Pagnell battling back well after the interval, Ise were restricted to Lauren Impey’s effort late in the game.
Peterborough Diamonds 2; Peterborough United 10. This local derby saw United retain their 100% record at the expense of a Diamonds’ side boosted by the arrival of new players. But a blistering first half performance saw United lead 6-0 at the interval. Julie Ikeda scored twice in the early stages, once from close range and once with a volley and then set up Ashley Palmer for the 3rd. Both these players went on to complete first half hat-tricks, the pick being Palmer’s header from Samara Iredale’s corner. United continued on the offensive after the break, Megan Bonner notching the 7th and Iredale curling in a 30yard fee kick. Laura Hings pulled 1 back following a corner before Ikeda and Bonner sent Posh into double figures. The final word went to Diamonds, with Katie Shirlds completing the scoring.
Under 15 - Division 2
Drayton Grange 0; Sunnyside Warriors Red 5. Warriors moved up to 2nd spot with a comfortable win over their close neighbours. Taleisha Holder led the way with a double, with Sinead Karchin, Louise Doherty and Kelly Bandey also on target.
Heelands Rangers 5; Brixworth Juniors 5. A good end to end game left Brixworth feeling they should have got more out of it as they relinquished a 3-1 interval lead. Stephanie Gale was chief scorer for Brixworth with a hat-trick, Georgie Powell and Kirsty Wilkinson adding the others, For Rangers, who dropped to 3rd after this result, both Leah Hayden and Jemima gates notched doubles, Lacey Henniker bagging a single.
Kingsthorpe Lynx 16; Duston Knights 0. Illness and injury meant that both sides fielded only 9 players, as Lynx comfortably saw off Knights to retain their 100% record. Danielle Charlton was chief tormentor with 9; Abigail Leach went nap, Amber Irons scored her 1st ever goal and Amy Milligan, whose through balls created havoc all game, was rewarded with the other.
Rushden Rangers 4; Flitwick Eagles 3. All the goals came in the 1st half as Rangers gained the win that took them above their visitors in the League. Rushden held a 3-1 lead as Flitwick were slow to settle, but they forced their way into the game, to only just lose out, as good defending after the break restricted opportunities. Both Karen Britchford and the outstanding Vicky Vickery scored twice for Rangers, the Eagles’ response coming from Kelly Lee. With a double, and Beth Hedges.
Vicarage Farm 4; Earls Barton United 5. A rusty Barton side, fielding 10 players, saw Claire Stancliffe and Donna Norman put Fram 2-0 ahead. Lauren care opened her seasonal account to reduce the arrears, Norman restored the 2 goal advantage, but Barton were level at the break through Catherine Sealey and Sinead Barry. Farm were back in front soon after the interval as Norman completed her ha-trick, only for Barton to hit back for the victory that saw them retain their 100% record, with Sealey and Care, 5 minutes from time, grabbing the goals.
