Barking Ladies match reports
WOMEN'S F.A.CUP FIRST ROUND
COLCHESTER UTD 2 BARKING LADIES 0
The last four years had seen Barking enjoy the luxury of joining the competition in round three, but a dismal
record of defeat at the first hurdle in three of those four years meant that the relegation at the end of last season
from the F.A. Premier League into the South East Combination League had brought hope that this misfortune could
be turned round as they now have to enter at round one.
So the team travelled up the A12 to Wivenhoe FC to take on a Colchester Utd side that they defeated ten
days ago 1-0 in the League, and starting to enjoy a little run that they were confident in extending.
Manager LISA BRIVATI had to do without LORNA ESTHERBY (Knee) and VICKI STAPLES (Holiday), and
KELLY STOCK whose work commitments meant a late arrival and a position on the subs bench to start.
The opening exchanges of the match were very tight, both sides were keen to take no chances. On 8 mins
Barking won a corner on the left, BRIVATI swung the ball in, Colchester cleared but the ball was returned
over the outgoing Colchester defence into the path of NICOLA CARTY but the ball ran through to the United
keeper. On 11 mins BRIVATI found NICOLE MANNING in space, she worked herself into a shooting opportunity but her clipped shot went straight into the arms of keeper Louise Murphy.
Within a minute Colchester created their first opening, breaking clear down the right wing a wicked drilled
shot was fired into Barking keeper MICHELLE BRIDGEMAN's side netting.
On 22 Mins Barking came so close to opening their account. Again a corner from BRIVATI was met and
headed goalwards by MANNING, only for Colchester to clear off the line.
The match again drifted into a tight affair but came alight minutes from the half time whistle. Barking again
forced the home side to clear off the line, BECKY GARNER chased a through ball, beat keeper Murphy
to it, rounded her and she shot was scrambled away off the line.
Colchester went down the other end, got a ball in behind the Barking defence and slotted under the on-coming
BRIDGEMAN, with Barking watching the ball hit a post, roll down the line and just over for the home side to
take a 1-0 lead on 45 minutes. The half time whistle blew as the game re-started.
Barking made two half time changes bring on STOCK & BROOKS for DEVITT and CARTY, and KELLY STOCK
looked lively in the opening exchanges.
But on 53 minutes it was 2-0 as Barking were caught for pace on the right side, and Colchester took full
advantage to slam past BRIDGEMAN high into the far corner.
Barking continued to huff and puff, Colchester were happy to concentrate on defending well and hit Barking
on the counter, and therefore the game started to die on its feet.
Barking did create some half chances, but half chances they were and it summed up a performance that was
poor in attitude and lacking and real class and creativity.
Manager BRIVATI was bitterly disappointed at the end with her players, and hopefully this will act as a
small kick up the backside before next weeks League match.

BARKING LADIES RES 3 SOUTHEND UTD RES 0
The Reserves looked to maintain their unbeaten record, and they managed this with a comfortable 3-0 win which in
truth should have been much more.
Barking missed a host of first half chances, but still managed to go in at the break 2-0 up with goals from STACY
SAVAGE on 19 minutes, a lovely right foot shot from inside the area, and LIANE PRIOR on 35 mins when she
raced onto a through ball, and placed past the advancing keeper.
The second half saw the visitors enjoy the majority of the play, but Barking still had plenty of chances and they
had to wait until ten minutes before from full time before SAVAGE scored her second from close range when
Southend faild to clear a corner.
Overall a good performance and another three points to keep the Reserves top of the table.

HERTFORDSHIRE GIRLS LEAGUE BARKING LADIES 0 BELMONT UNITED 3
The Under 10's disappointing season continued when they lost this contest against Belmont. Barking did
put in a much improved performance but had no answer to the extra power and strength of the Belmont
front two and the centre halves.
Belmont scored on 16 mins and 23 minutes, both goals the same as Belmont accelerated away from their
smaller opponents to crash the ball past Barking keeper HOLLY CLARY.
The second half continued much in the same vein as the first, Barking did get into the opposition box but were
unable to score, whilst when Belmont did break forward they looked threatening and dangerous. Belmont
wrapped it up with a third goal on 55 minutes to take the points.
TEAM : Holly Clary, Shaynece Rawlings, Paris Jones, Charlotte Russell, Alex Small, Kayleigh Debenham,

Whilst the A Team were having a disaster back in Mayesbrook Park, the B Team thought they were also on
the verge of a bad day as holidays robbed them of two players and illness robbed them of two more shortly
before kick off, meaning the team travelled with only six players for this seven-a-side game.
However GRACE SALE opened the scoring in the second minute, and when Barking keeper MILLIE
DEVEREUX saved a penalty for the second week running, Barking started to believe life wasn't so bad
after all. On 11 minutes ROSIE JACOB grabbed Barking's second and when GRACE SALE scored her second
and Barking's third on 18 minutes it was all over.
The opening minute of the second half saw Barking awarded a penalty but GRACE SALE fired wide. After
a ding-dong ten minutes GRACE SALE finally grabbed that hat trick to secure a great win for the hard working

Chelmsford fail to halt Barking's unbeaten run despite using several of their first team players

Doherty's feet, who with a quick turn poked the ball right footed into the bottom corner.
The second half was scrappy and Barking looked to have sealed the points until Chelmsford were

Barking Ladies 3 Gillingham 2Barking returned to league action with a tough physical encounter against a Gillingham side still in danger of relegation.
With overnight rain making the Barking FC unplayable the match was switched to the outside Mayesbrook Park pitch. Conditions were not conducive to a good game with driving rain and a swirling wind.
Barking took the lead on 7 minutes when Lisa Brivati swung in a corner which deflected off Gillingham's keeper into own net. Gilligham equalized on 22 minutes when a low shot from outside the box deceived Michelle Bridgeman. Four minutes later Nicola Moore with a one on one with keeper saw her shot saved. Just two minutes from the end of the first half Kelly Stock made the score 2-1 when she run round the keeper and slotted the ball into an empty net.
A very bitty second half saw Gillingham forced to play more direct to get themselves back in the game, however the Barking defence held firm and looked comfortable.
In the 62nd minute Kelly Stock should have wrapped the game up, but though she held off a defender, rounded the keeper she could only find the side netting. The game burst into life in the 88 minute when Michelle Bridgeman made a hash of her clearance, and with the ball only going ten yards straight to a Gillingham forward who lobbed the ball home from 28 yards. Deep into injury time, Lisa Brivati was fouled outside the box, Brivati drove the kick in and Gillingham again deflected.

Witham Town 2 Barking Reserves 9Barking clinched the league championship with a 9-2 victory at Witham. Playing against a strong wind Barking led 4-1 at half time through a Stacy Savage hat-trick. The other scored by Jo McGuiness. Barking dominated the second and scored further goals through a Kirsty McGrath double and a 20 yard left foot thunderbolt from Lianne Prior. Stacy Savage grabbed two further goals to complete the scoring. Barking Manager Steve Bernet said 'I am please with our performance although we missed a lot of chances to add more goals. It's good that we continue to create opportunities. The players themselves were overjoyed and looking forward to the final game and the celebrations that will follow'.
Team: Sarah Ball, Jan Walsh, Haylee Bernet, Claire Brooks, Nicola Maggs, Julie Oli, Vanessa Doherty, Kirsty McGrath, Lianne Prior, Jo McGuinness, Stacy Savage.

Team: Holly Clary, Victoria Moorton, Janine Bentham, Paris Jones, Kayleigh Debenham, Hayley Piggott, Katie Whitehead, Rosie Sweeny, Joy Dutch, April Patten, Shaynece Rawlings, Charlotte Russell, Danielle McAlister.
Barking u11 0 Enfield 3With no league game scheduled, a friendly match was arranged and with both sides looking to use existing players and potential new players it was agreed to play 3 X 25 mins.
The first third was a very even and tight affair, both sides failing to create any clear cut chances.
The second third was edged by Enfield but the score remained 0-0 mainly due to some excellent goal keeping by Amy Vincent.
The third and final 25 minutes saw Enfield blitz the home side with a 3 goal burst inside five minutes. Again Amy Vincent made some neat saves and Barking came close themselves through Demi Whitehead and Jodie Foster.
Overall a good match and run out for both sides.
Team: Amy Vincent, Megan Woolgrove, Vikki Eden, Abbie West, Holly Leader, Khaquila Rawlings, Demi Whitehead, Jodie Foster, Molly Patten, Karina Bamber, Ashely Burnett.

First teamToday's game was hard going for both sides as they had to contend with strong winds for all of the match. The first half was very evenly matched with both teams for the first 30 minutes having no real shots on goal. Barking had to make an early substitution when Haylee Bernet came on for injured Becky Garner.
The first chance came for Barking on forty minutes when a free kick from Lisa Brivati landed, shot towards the box to be headed backwards by QPR's defender to the goal keeper who only just got her hands to the ball thanks to the wind. Just minutes later a fumble in the box saw a one-one-on with Nicola Moore and QPR's goalkeeper resulting in the 'keeper going down and the game held up to attend to her injury.
Just before injury time a corner from QPR saw Michelle Bridgeman punch the ball away followed closely in injury time saw another punch away by Michelle just off the line.
The second half started in severe rain and probable gale force winds which severely hindered the play. Hayley Unwin substituted for Lianne Prior. QPR had the advantage with the wind stopping the ball in mid air. Both teams battled hard to play football. QPR had the first corner of the second half, which landed nicely in the box for QPR forward to take a shot at goal which was bravely pushed away by Michelle Bridgeman only to land straight back in QPR's path to shoot again but Michelle got her fingers to the ball which landed at Hayley Bernet's feet who quickly kicked it away.
Nicola Moore substituted for Stacy Savage.
With the ball only moving yards in the wind QPR scored the first goal assisted by the wind. The second goal for QPR was 14 minutes later when a good cross into the box landed just right for QPR forward to slot it past Michelle. Barking hit back with minutes to spare when a free kick from Lisa Brivati found Kelly Stock who shot into the back of the net but was controversially called offside.

Barking Ladies First Team, U12's and U13's match reports.
Essex FA County Cup Final
Barking Ladies 0 Dagenham & Redbridge 1Baking failed to retain the County Cup following a below par performance against a team that deserved to win on the day.
Barking started well and forced a possession of throws deep in the Dagenham half, but failed to turn these into clear cut changes and this set the pattern for the day.
Some wicked in-swinging corners and a neat move involving Kelly Stock and Nicola Moore saw Barking go close, but fell behind on the half hour as Michelle Sherwin fired home a loose ball from 30 yards.
The second half saw Dagenham and Redbridge go close to adding to their score but Michelle Bridgeman made several fine saves in the Barking goal to keep them in the game.
As much as Barking huffed and puffed it wasn't going to be their day and they returned home as disappointed losers.
TeamMichelle Bridgeman, Karen Staples, Donna Devitt, Harriet Sim, Vicki Staples, Leanne Couch, Becky Garner, Nicole Manning, Lisa Brivati, Kelly Stock, Nicola Moore.
