Aldershot started the brighter and went ahead with a goal from Kath Gibberson. Red Star then replied 2 minutes later. New signing Sarah Bullock had to come off with only 10 minutes gone of her home debut; Tara Coles replaced her. Then Jo Donoghue stole the show with two first half goals, the first came from Jodie Addison’s hard work down the right side and was neatly finished by Jo Donoghue, then Jo Donoghue beat her defender on the outside of the box a power home from distance for her second and Aldershot’s third to make the half time score Aldershot Town – 3 Red Star – 1. In the second half Red Star showed their determination by getting themselves back into the game with two early goals to bring the game back to 3–3. Jo Donoghue then scored her first hatrick for the Club when she scored from close range. Jo Kibble then got in on the act when she cut in from the left hand side and with a low left foot drive beat the keeper. Red Star then once again came back at the Shots with a goal ten minutes from time. The Shots managed to hold and the final score was Aldershot Town – 5 Red Star – 4. The Squad: Hayley Calder, Sarah Harness, Lyndsey Shrubb, Di Smith, Sarah Bullock, Jodie Addison, Deb Rule, Emma North, Jo Kibble, Kath Gibberson, Jo Donoghue, Tara Coles, Laura Low and Zoe Inwood. Shots Ladies hit six

A good start to the game is what the Shots needed to get their confidence. With Becky May starting her first full game back after a long injury, she was determined to get back on the score sheet which is what she did after 6 minutes with a shot from inside the six yard box. Jo Donoghue made it 2–0 with a low strike from the edge of the 18 yard box. A bad knee injury to Lyndsey Shrubb meant that play was delayed. Tara Coles scored from a corner and Di Smith ran the length of the pitch to hammer the ball home with her right foot to make the half time score Red Star – 0 Aldershot Town Ladies – 4. Aldershot were playing well and made all their pressure pay. Emma North scored two second half headers to make the Final Score Red Star – 0 Aldershot Town – 6. This was a good result for the Shots, but they will have to play equally as well in 2 weeks time when they meet Red Star in the quarter final of the league cup. The squad: Hayley Calder, Lyndsey Shrubb, Sarah Harness (Capt.), Di Smith, Tara Coles, Jodie Addison, Kath Giberson, Emma North, Laura Low, Jo Donoghue, Becky May and Zoe Inwood. The ladies next game is away to Shanklin (Isle of Wight), Sunday 22nd February 2 pm kick off. Shots through to cup semi final

Aldershot started the first half well but at times were a little complacent. The passing was controlled and the Shots created a few chances but did not punish Red Star. As the first half went on the Shots decided to up their game, Jo Donoghue scored from distance to make it 1 – 0. Red Star court the Shots back line with the counter attack but was unable to beat Hayley Calder in the Shots goal. With the best move of the game Sarah Harness played a ball out wide to Jodie Addison who neatly crossed the ball over for Emma North to head the ball into the back of the net. Half Time Aldershot Town – 2 Red Star – 0. The Shots seemed to lose there way in the second have and if it was not for keeper Haley Calder being on top form then Red Star could have run away with the game. Red Star scored from a corner to make it 2 – 1. Then with the Shots inability to clear the ball the Red Star striker thumped the ball into the goal to make the game 2 – 2. With time running out and extra time looming Jodie Addison ran down the wing as was fouled on the edge of the box. Di Smith step up, their was thirty second left on the clock, Smith curled the ball left footed into the top corner to make the score 3 – 2. Red Star did not even have time to take the centre kick. Final Score Aldershot Town – 3 Red Star – 2. The Squad: Hayley Calder, Sarah Harness, Tara Coles, Di Smith, Sarah Bullock, Jodie Addison, Emma North, Debbie Rule (Capt.), Jo Kibble, Becky May, Jo Donoghue, Laura Low and Rayna Paull.
