ARSENAL WOMEN beat Aston Villa 3-0 on a night when Jordan Nobbs returned to a heroes’ reception at Meadow Park.

Frida Maanum grabbed a brace, prior to Caitlin Foord sealing a deserved victory for Jonas Eidevall’s side on Thursday evening.

In front of a very respectable crowd of 2,959 at Boreham Wood on a cold evening, the Gunners earned a home Continental League Cup semi-final tie against holders Manchester City.

Football's world governing body Fifa said the 2019 tournament in France attracted 1.12 billion viewers.

But the 2023 edition in Australia and New Zealand could double that, Football Australia chief executive James Johnson told BBC Sport.

"We think that's achievable. We know we'll get a good audience from the traditional football markets," he said.

The 19-year-old becomes the Foxes' fifth new arrival of the January transfer window.

Mace, an England Under-19 international, made her senior debut for Arsenal aged 17 before moving to Manchester.

Leicester are bottom of the Women's Super League with just three points so far this season.

The 31-year-old made her Scotland debut in 2008 and scored 24 goals in 144 appearances for her country. The Arsenal centre-back also represented her nation at the 2019 Women's World Cup.

"Representing Scotland has been an absolute honour and a dream come true," Beattie said.

"Thank you so much to every single staff member and player that has made my experiences so memorable and enjoyable. I've made friends for life."

However, she was scared to open up to coaches about her struggles.

The 26-year-old English striker has struggled with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety throughout her professional football career.

A series of major injuries have only made her professional career more difficult still but following a move to the United States, Farrow is now feeling more positive.
