Letterkenny Rovers have appointed Brid McGinty as their new Head of Women’s Football.

The club say the appointment of Brid is a major step forward by the club and the development of girls and women’s football at Rovers.

Brid, who is currently doing her UEFA ‘A’ Licence, is currently Head Coach of both the Donegal U19 and U17 Women’s National League teams and coach with the FAI Donegal Girls Centre of Excellence U13 and U15 while she has previously guided Lagan Harps to national cup success winning both the WFAI Intermediate Cup and the WFAI Junior Cup.

USA Women are set to receive $6.5million (£5.4million) for the men's side reaching the last 16 of the World Cup as part of the equal pay agreement that was forged earlier this year.

After sealing the landmark agreement earlier this year, USA became the first federation in history to split their World Cup prize money down the middle between their two main national teams, which they described as a 'truly historic moment'.

Arsenal W.F.C has been home to many of the England squad, including Lionesses' captain, Leah Williamson, as well as Beth Mead, Lotte Wubben-Moy, Jordan Nobbs, and Nikita Parris (who has since transferred to Manchester United). And in more exciting news, Il Makiage – the cult New-York-based beauty brand – is officially joining the Arsenal family.

Juliet Slot, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal, has welcomed the partnership, saying, "Arsenal has been at the forefront of women’s football since 1987 and the game is at an exciting moment in its development."
