Iran goalie hits back after Jordan FA accuses her of being a man
Jordan Football Association (FA) called on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to launch an investigation and determine the sex of a goalkeeper, identified as Zohreh Koudaei, of the Iranian women’s football team. But on Thursday, as reported by the Daily Mail, Koudaei has hit back and vowed to sue the Jordan FA on grounds of ‘bullying’.
“I am a woman. This is bullying from Jordan,” Koudaei said emphatically.
“I will sue the Jordan FA,'” she was quoted as saying by the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.
The incident, which transpired in July, occurred during a qualifying game of the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup between Jordan and Iran where Iran won 4-2. Koudaei, the Iran shot-stopper, saved two penalties as the win ensured Iran’s qualification for the upcoming Asia Cup.
This led to the Jordanian Football Association president Prince Ali bin Hussein claiming that Koudaei is a male posing as a female. He also followed up the claim with a tweet that he sent to the Asian Football Confederation, calling the situation “very serious if true,” whilst demanding the association to “wake up.”
According to a report by the Times of Israel, the selector of Iran, Maryam Irandoost, dismissed the allegation.
“The medical staff has carefully examined each player on the national team in terms of hormones to avoid any problems in this regard, and so I tell all fans not to worry,” Irandoost told sports news site Varzesh3 on Sunday.
“We will provide any documentation that the Asian Confederation of Football wishes without wasting time.” Show article

Women’s game should take long-awaited chance to set own agenda
In April women’s football found itself dragged into an almighty row over the prospect of a European Super League when it appeared as a footnote to a lengthy statement about the men’s game.
It was a perfect illustration of why women’s football should map out its own future, rather than replicate the path of the men’s game, to give itself the best chance of avoiding turmoil down the line.
Only six months later another controversial idea regarding the future of the sport has implications for the women’s game too: the idea of a biennial World Cup. This time Fifa has recognised that a hastily added line to a proposal surrounding the men’s game will not suffice.
Morgan says investment must coincide with World Cup plan
Alex Morgan said increased investment in the women's game must be part of any plan for a biennial World Cup. Morgan, a star on the U.S. women's national team, is part of a FIFA technical advisory group announced this week that is looking into a proposal to stage the World Cup every two years. “We looked at not only the financial part of it when it comes to the World Cup, but also increasing the number of federations that have women’s teams that play year-round, not only play in qualifiers once every four years -- or possibly in the future once every two years,” Morgan said. “So how do we continue to incentivize and put more money into the women’s game? That’s a huge piece of it as well, I don’t think you can have one without the other. You can’t have a biannual World Cup without addressing the financial piece.”
FIFA Technical Advisory Group is to focus on growth and advancement of women’s football.
Competitive balance, increased opportunities for underserved nations, a FIFA Women’s Club World Cup, increased visibility and participation, FIFA international windows, prize money and the possibility of staging a biennial FIFA Women’s World Cup are some of topics included in the discussions held by the FIFA Technical Advisory Group (TAG) led by Jill Ellis.
As part of a wider comprehensive consultation process, FIFA is also meeting with other women’s football stakeholders including the member associations, confederations, clubs, leagues and teams.
The TAG, which comprises players, coaches, referees, administrators, sports scientists and executives, features representation from each of the six continental confederations, held its second meeting on Friday 15 October.

Cedella Marley Kicks Off New Women’s Football Initiative with International Friendly Between Jamaica
Inaugural Football Is Freedom fundraising match takes place Sunday, October 24th at 5pm in Fort Lauderdale’s DRV PNK Stadium
Cedella Marley (CEO of the Bob Marley Group of companies); currently in her seventh year as Global Ambassador for the Jamaica Women’s Football Programme, is now expanding her advocacy and commitment to the women’s game. Her new Football is Freedom Initiative will provide tools and resources for the development and growth of women’s football throughout the Caribbean and Latin America as well as diaspora communities in the United States.
“In the process of my role as ambassador, I have taken note of the crucial role that football can play in empowering young women; through opportunities for education and professional advancement (both on and off the pitch). Through the Football is Freedom Initiative we can expand our efforts to other countries in the region and eventually beyond.” - Cedella Marley
The core mission of FIF is trifold:
Support the development of women’s football at the grass-roots level in the region by funding existing programs/academies in the islands AND in diaspora communities in Canada and the United States
Supporting the growth and development of national teams by staging an annual exhibition match/mini tournament to provide a quality training experience and raise funds that will go directly into the women’s programs of the participating federations
Invest in the holistic wellness of the players by funding scholarships and programs that assist players with skillsets and tools to help them succeed outside of football once that time comes.
The launch of Football Is Freedom centers around an international friendly fundraising match between the national women’s teams of Jamaica and Costa Rica. In addition to helping fund the new initiative, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to each national team. Marley is particularly pleased that Costa Rica will join Jamaica on the pitch at DRV PNK Stadium. “In 2014, I was honored to attend the FIFA U-17 WWC finals in Costa Rica (as the guest of the late Capt. Horace Burrell). The Costa Rican federation's investment in women's football has helped to inspire my own ideas about the impact that the women’s game could have once given the proper support. Having two of our strongest female teams come together like this is a chance to demonstrate the potential depth and power of women’s football in this region.”
The Reggae Girlz and Las Sele both arrive in South Florida October 18th for a week of training and a two-game series. In adherence to FIFA- mandated COVID protocols, the delegations will be housed in protective isolation during the camp. The first match will be a closed-door scrimmage, and the finale will be a fundraising match open to the public. The camp is the result of a combined effort by the Bob Marley Foundation, Rita Marley Foundation, and Reggae Girlz Foundation. The match is being presented by Cedella Marley in association with Black Tower Agency.
In separate statements, the Costa Rican and Jamaican Federations expressed the importance of the upcoming camp and the initiative itself to women’s football in the region:
“For the Costa Rican Football Federation it is a true pleasure to be able to participate in the first edition of the "Football is freedom" Festival. From a sporting perspective, the fact that our female players can compete with a team of such high caliber as the Jamaican team is immensely important. And of course, getting the chance to participate in the beginnings of what this foundation is going to do makes us proud. The first edition of this festival, set to be held in Florida, will be of utmost importance for our players as they look ahead to the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. We will also use this opportunity to show how a foundation like this can impact young girls and get them excited about sports”. -Gustavo Araya, FEDEFUTBOL General Secretary.
“I would like to wholeheartedly commend and congratulate our Reggae Girlz Ambassador Cedella Marley and her team. “Football is Freedom” can only help to broaden the interest and quicken the expansion of women’s football in Jamaica and the wider region. We are particularly proud that the initiative is being launched around a camp and an International Friendly game involving the Reggae Girlz. This will serve as invaluable preparation for their World Cup Qualifiers which begin in November. The Jamaica Football Federation stands ready to offer whatever assistance necessary to ensure the success of this venture and we look forward to participating vibrantly going forward. On behalf of every aspiring female footballer throughout Jamaica, I wish this progressive vision every success.” — Michael Ricketts, President of the Jamaica Football Federation.
In addition to the main event, Sunday’s festivities will include:
Pre-Game kickoff party/ Fan Zone experience with games, entertainment, and food trucks
Community Marketplace showcasing small businesses and organizations from the South Florida diaspora communities
A musical halftime performance
Football Is Freedom is presented by Cedella Marley Enterprises in association with Black Tower Agency. Other sponsors and partners include Visit Fort Lauderdale, KICS International, Bob Marley Foundation, and Riddims Marketing.
Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster beginning October 6th. For information about group ticket purchases please contact the production office directly via email: footballisfreedom@tuffgongmusic.com.

There are hundreds of products with hyped up promises of ‘shaving inches off your waistline’, but an organic tea simply ‘hopes to help’ you on your weight loss journey in a natural and tasty way…
Natur Boutique’s Organic Diet Tea blend has been put together using natural ingredients, which both taste great and may complement dieting, each thought to help in a different way:
Green tea is well known for its purported weight loss properties, with studies showing it may work through a number of different mechanisms, including increasing satiety (the feeling of fullness)1.
Pineapple contains something called bromelain. Bromelain has been linked to potential weight loss, as it has been shown2 to exhibit an apparent ability to modulate the multiplication of fat cells. Whilst it’s not known whether it can help in tea form, it adds a natural sweetness to the drink, without the need for sugar.
Java tea isn’t normally associated with weight loss, but research3, although human studies are lacking, has shown it may be able to help to reduce appetite and fat levels; with researchers suggesting this is due to the plant modulating the effects of leptin (a hormone associated with controlling appetite).
Hibiscus tea is added for yet another potential weight loss mechanism. With a small human study4 showing that those taking hibiscus extracts saw reduced body weight, BMI, body fat and waist-to-hip ratio.
The result of combining these teas is a tasty companion for those looking to gently lose weight; a drink that is unique and refreshing and has a taste and aroma that will appeal to everyone, whether dieting or not.
Natur Boutique’s Organic Diet Tea is available in from Grape Tree, www.naturboutique.co.uk and health stores and costs just £2.99 for a box of twenty individually wrapped teabags.
Please note: NOT suitable for pregnant or breast feeding women. Unsuitable for those under the age of 18. Keep out of the reach of children. Java tea may act as a diuretic. From supermodels Miranda Kerr and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to TV stars Millie Mackintosh and Jennifer Aniston, the green algae supplement chlorella hasn't been far from celebrities lips over the last few years. It appears however, following discoveries in a recent study, there's more to the algae's skin benefits than simply celebrity anecdotes and that we could all get superstar skin by adding a little of chlorella to our lives...
A recent published study1 looked at the potential cosmetic benefits of different types of chlorella and revealed some surprising results, which support celebrity claims that the algae could give you a glowing complexion. Some of the chlorella tested contained powerful anti-oxidants, molecules that are seen to combat oxygen free radicals (one of the main culprits thought to be behind aging skin and a result of everything from pollution to stress). What was far more exciting however was the discovery that some chlorella had an ability to inhibit an enzyme called elastase. Elastase acts to break down a protein found in our skin called elastin.
When discussing skin and aging, collagen is often the main topic of conversation, but elastin plays an equally important role in keeping our skin looking young. Whilst collagen provides the skin with its firmness, elastin gives it its elasticity and an ability to rebound when pinched or pulled. Less elastin means less elasticity, which leads inevitably to skin sagging and wrinkles. By inhibiting the elastase enzyme, which breaks down elastin, chlorella could provide a powerful tool to help our skin stay young, although no one can promise this means you'll get supermodel looks!
Sun Chlorella
Sun Chlorella is one of the world's leading brands and produce chlorella which can be taken from the inside out, in the form of tablets and powder.
One of the reasons Sun Chlorella stands out from the other products on the market is that the fact they use a DYNO®-Mill process, which breaks down the cell walls of the algae (without the use of heat or chemicals which can reduce the quality of the chlorella) to ensure when you use either their products you're getting the most nutrients possible.

Forget the traditional Christmas Tree, if you really want to feel good this festive period ensure you have some ‘Drumstick Tree’ to hand...
Known as the 'miracle' or 'drumstick tree', the leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and roots of moringa are all used traditionally throughout Asia for a host of claimed health benefits.
Research continues 1,2,3 to highlight, that on top of its traditional use, moringa could also help our bodies and livers better protect themselves from the onslaught of 'poisons'. In the studies scientists looked at the effect on animal livers of moringa extracts when exposed to poison. Under normal circumstances the liver helps filter toxins from the body, but excess exposure over time can cause lasting damage to the organ and prevent it from working efficiently.
In numerous studies, scientists have found that moringa extracts can help reduce markers of liver damage and improve the condition of the liver's cells when exposed to poison, indicating the plant somehow has a protective effect on the body.
How to include moringa in your diet this Christmas
Natur Boutique's organic moringa tea offers one of the easiest and tastiest ways to feel the benefits of the plant. The tea is one of the only organic versions available and uses the leaves of the moringa tree to create a drink that is 100% pure and free of additives, flavourings or preservatives. With a robust rich flavour, the tea offers a great way to give yourself a natural and beneficial boost.
Sweeten as desired with honey, natural sweetener or sugar.

Go to the kitchen, go wash dishes, you pieces of ****
Football players of Catalonia's Terrassa Football Club were expelled from competition after they've proffered sexist insults at the female club mates during a match, sparking a broader discussion on social media about sexism in male-dominated sports.
The veteran players yelled: “get off the field, it's time for us to play. This game should have been suspended. You shouldn't [even] be playing.”
The female players rebuked them and were quickly joined by some members of the public. Then the men's insults turned sexist: “Go to the kitchen, go wash dishes, you pieces of shit. You're sluts,” were some of the expletives cited in the minutes of the match. Show article

Phil Neville: England women's manager on overcoming scepticism at appointment
Phil Neville says it took him a month to overcome widespread scepticism when he was appointed England women's boss.
The 42-year-old had little experience of the women's game, and famously only followed his new charges on social media just before it was confirmed he was being appointed as Mark Sampson's successor in January 2018.
A year on, Neville has proved worthy of the role. Show article
