Hannah Dingley: Forest Green's trailblazing academy manager on encouraging women into coaching

It "will not be long" until we see a woman managing a men's professional football team, says Hannah Dingley, academy manager at Forest Green Rovers.

Dingley remains the only woman in charge of a men's English Football League academy, since her appointment in 2019.

The 39-year-old's role sees her develop young players with the aim of them progressing to the first-team.

Manchester City v Chelsea: Khadija Shaw 'can be best in world', says Alex Greenwood

Greenwood 'not worried' by Man City's slow start:
City may have seemed unlikely title contenders when they lost their first two WSL matches, and they were eliminated from the Champions League at the qualifying stage by Real Madrid.

However, Gareth Taylor's side have not lost a game inside 90 minutes since defeat by Chelsea on 25 September and are unbeaten in 13 WSL games - including 11 wins.

Importantly, that guidance also covers matches in the Women's Super League and the FA Women's Championship, allowing elite players in the women's game to break their fast by taking on liquids, energy gels or nutritional supplements, during a natural pause in play.

"I expect a team and an opponent that will make life very hard for us on Saturday," said Eidevall.

West Ham manager Paul Konchesky on what women's football means to him

"If the women’s game keeps getting the media, the TV rights that it’s getting, I’m not saying the women’s game won’t ever get as big as the men’s game because I think it can get towards that."

West Ham Women manager Paul Konchesky was a late convert to the intricacies of the WSL, but like many others has now come to fully appreciate how undervalued the women's game has been for so long.

Everton’s Holmgaard twins: ‘We wouldn’t have this life if we hadn’t pushed each other on’

While Sara is left-footed and plays in central defence, Karen favours her right foot and anchors midfield but, back in the dressing room, the pair’s similarities far outweigh the differences.
Even Everton’s manager, Brian Sørensen, has been known to confuse one identical twin with the other. “Being left and right-footed is the biggest difference. I’m maybe a bit quieter but otherwise we’re nearly the same,” says Sara before Karen interjects. “I have a higher bun,” she points out, gesturing to her hair. “But we’re just enjoying being here together, it’s something special.”
